Happy 201st Birthday Abraham Lincoln
Today, 12 February, is Abraham Lincoln’s, the 16th President of the United States, birthday. If there was anyone who was able to hold this country together, it was Lincoln and he was truly an inspiration to many, for Lincoln is still being written about over two centuries later. And rightly so, because
of his ideals and accomplishments. Many of his words both spoken and written live on to reverberate across America. I was fortunate to grow up when we still honored his birthday and it wasn’t lumped in another “sales day” that we now call Presidents’ Day. Many of the first books I read were about Lincoln and his struggle to succeed. He faced many hard struggles to ultimately become the President of the United States. Most memorable of all that I’ve ever read about this great man or said by him are:
Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people.

The above words should be taken to heart by those who govern from the current White House, to the House & Senate and all across America.
