Mission ANC (continued)

A week ago, the Washington DC area was somewhat paralyzed as it snowed very heavily for over 25 hours.   Navigating in the Nation’s Capital Region is challenging enough …  Adding upwards of 20 inches of snow makes it nearly impossible.   How were your travels last weekend?   Where did you go?

As I wrote earlier,  I attempted to access Arlington National Cemetery on Saturday only to find it closed because of the weather.  Another attempt was made on Sunday…

Only to find that the gates were still locked although Memorial Drive was cleared by the National Park Service.  After taking the opportunity to record some of the snow-covered ANC exteriors, I decided to head downtown Washington DC and capture some of the area covered in snow.

After going along the Potomac and catching ANC from the DC side, I walked over to the Lincoln Memorial, which also was closed…  many photos later… I headed over to what was most apropos – The Korean War memorial with the Soldiers covered in and with snow all around them…  Heading back over the Memorial Bridge,  I swung by the AirForce Memorial on the South side of ANC and finished up with photos of those lovely spires with a blanket of snow surrounding their base.

Check out the album in the Gallery.   What does the snow on these monuments make you feel?

Have you seen the new Mugs in the Product Section?
